Credit Repair in Lenexa, KS
Lenexa, Kansas is a city in Johnson County, Kansas City, Kansas. The City was founded in 1857 after James Butler Hickok staked a claim on roughly 160 acres of land that was not far from the Kansas River. On March 22, 1858, Hickok was elected one of the first out of four constables of a nearby township called Monticello Township. Eventually, Hickok would go on to become on of the most famous folk heroes of the American West, Wild Bill Hickok.
At about roughly the same time that Hickok had staked his claim for the land, a near-by resident of the Shawnee Indian reservation named Na-Nex-Se Blackhoof, the widow of Chief Blackhoof, became the second signer of the 1854 treaty that designated 1,600,000 acres of the Kansas Shawnee Indian Reservation to the United States Government.
in 1865, a new organization was formed to take advantage of new land laws. Formerly known as the Kansas and Neosho Valley Railroad, the name was changed to the Missouri River, Ft. Scott and Gulf Railroad. In 1869, they purchased right of way permissions from C.A. Bradshaw in the area that is now known as Lenexa, Kansas, under the condition that a depot was to be built upon the property. Bradshaw also sold close to 10 acres to a railroad engineer that platted the town in 1869, named Octave Chanute. According to the legend, "Bradshaw" was the first name proposed for the city. Bradshaw modestly refused, and the name Lenexa was adopted, after a derivation of the widow of Chief Blackhoof, Na-Nex-Se Blackhoof.
